Everyday Paleo

Everyday Paleo

I borrowed Everyday Paleo by Sarah Fragoso, a book of paleo recipes, from the library a few weeks ago; and I liked so many of them that I just had to purchase a book of my own. The recipes include pictures, and there aren’t any weird ingredients or difficult cooking methods that take hours. The author also shares her journey to a paleo lifestyle and why she made the decision to eat that way and how she introduced her family to the foods. If you aren’t familiar with the paleo lifestyle, it’s just eating good healthy foods instead of eating processed foods.

Fit 2 Fat 2 Fit

Fit 2 Fat 2 Fit

Drew Manning of www.fit2fat2fit.com has gained over 70 excess pounds in 6 months on purpose in order to demonstrate to others how easy it is to gain weight if you change your lifestyle and start eating junk food and not exercising. He then plans to demonstrate how to get fit again by eating healthy and working out. Drew is a personal trainer and has always been fit throughout his life, so this sudden change in lifestyle was really difficult for him and he has documented it in his blog step by step.

Jimmy Moore

I participated in Low-Carb Conversations with Jimmy Moore and Friends this morning. It’s one of my favorite podcasts, and I was delighted when Jimmy asked me to share my weight-loss story. If you are interested in hearing from real people living the low-carb life and how they manage to lose their weight and maintain it, you can listen to the podcast on iTunes. Of course, all information about the podcast is on lowcarbconversations.com.

Berry Dessert

Berry Dessert

Berry Dessert

This dessert reminds me of ice-cream.  It’s really good on a hot day. I’m not sure how many carbs are in it, but it can’t be many. I ate this dessert nearly every night while losing 80 lbs.

Ingredients:
1 Cup Frozen Strawberries
1/8 to 1/4 Cup Each of Blueberries, Raspberries
Whipped Cream
Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup
Splenda to taste

Partially thaw berries in microwave oven for approximately 30 seconds. Slice the strawberries and sprinkle all berries with Splenda. Mix throughly. Spoon berries into a parfait glass, alternating with layers of whipped cream. Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup and serve.

01-14-10 Menu

by Sandy January 14, 2010 Menus

I’ve decided to post my low carb menus as a way to not only to keep track of what I’m eating, but to help keep me on the low carb track and accountable. I got the idea from Dana Carpenter and Jimmy Moore. I don’t know if I’ll be able to post every day, but […]

Julia Child on PBS

by Sandy August 30, 2009 Low Carb

Since the movie, Julie and Julia came out, there seems to be a renewed interest in Julia Child and her cooking show, The French Chef, which was on television from 1963 to 1973. I recently saw one of her videos on PBS, Elegance With Eggs. Not only did it bring back memories about watching her […]
