The New iPad

The New iPad

Ok, I wasn’t going to buy a new iPad, but I did. I decided to sell my iPad 2 because I just wasn’t using it much. I didn’t pre-order the new one. I happened to go into Best Buy over the week-end, though, and saw that the screen resolution was so stunning. When they said that they had quite a few in stock, I bought the white, 64GB with WIFI but not 4G since I never used it on the iPad 2. Anyway, I love the enhanced resolution and the dictation feature. The iPad 2 is still an amazing iPad, but the New iPad just takes it to another level. Hopefully, I’ll use this one more than I did the iPad 2.

Talking to Siri

Talking to Siri

Talking to Siri

If you have the latest Apple iPhone 4s, you also have Siri, the voice assistant. I recently found an ebook on Amazon called Talking To Siri by Erica Sadun and Steven Sande. Even though there are so many things that Siri can do, this book describes more efficient ways of voicing a request and also reveals tips about how to make the most of the service. There are many more things that you can do other than send messages, schedule meetings and place phone calls. For only $4.99, you can learn all about talking to Siri.

White iPhone 4S

Apple iPhone 4S

Apple iPhone 4S

I just received an Apple white iPhone 4S with 32gb. I previously had the iPhone 4. I’m really enjoying the intelligent assistant, Siri. I use the voice recognition technology when talking about the weather, the calendar and appointments, contacts, phone calls, email, text, notes and reminders. Also, the camera is 8 megapixels with a faster image sensor, which makes it better in low light. The images appear crisp and clear. Last, but not least, there’s the more powerful A5 chip and the new HSDPA radio for 3G+ download speeds.

New Cat In Town

Mac OSX Lion

Mac OSX Lion

Did you install Apple’s Lion yet? Naturally, being the Apple addict that I am, I downloaded it on the first day in the first hour that it was available in the App store. Everything went smoothly except the Launchpad had doubled my applications, but I found a solution for that by reading the Apple forums. My favorite feature is Mission Control. I seldom used Spaces in Snow Leopard, but I think MC is more user friendly. I like not having multiple windows cluttering my desktop. I also like Launchpad. I’ve reduced the applications in my doc to four: Safari, iCal, Mail, and Twitter. Finder, Mission Control and Launchpad, and Trash are also there, but they aren’t applications.

My iPad 2

Apple iPad 2

My iPad 2

I ordered an iPad 2 yesterday. I chose the 64GB, WIFI/3G, black with red cover. I was persuaded by my daughter and everyone else who has one, so I hope it was a good decision. I really like my 15″ mbp, but it’s a bit heavy to take with me and I thought the iPad would be more convenient. I also bought a Gelaskins cover for the back and a clear cover for the screen. Gelaskins supplies a frame for the front, but nothing for the screen, except for a matching wallpaper. I chose the Blimp Girl design by Aaron Kraten for my iPad skin. If you have a chance, check out all the designs at Gelaskins.

New Computer

by Sandy February 25, 2011 Technology

Ordered a new 15 inch MacBook Pro today. I’ve been waiting for the new Sandy Bridge processors for quite awhile. I usually get a new computer every 2 years following Intel’s Tick-Tock schedule. I also chose the solid state drive. Can’t wait to see if it’s as fast as everyone says.

New iPhone 4

by Sandy June 25, 2010 Technology

Along with thousands of others, I picked up my iPhone 4 on Thursday, 6/24/10.  I could have had it shipped, but I decided to go down to the Apple store in a nearby town.  I left home around 5AM and picked up my phone at 8AM.  There were around 400 people in line when I […]

New iPhone

by Sandy June 13, 2010 Technology

Well, WWDC came and went with no mention of new Macs, but the iPhone 4 was introduced by Apple. I plan to pre-order it on June 15th (Tuesday) and pick it up at the Apple store on June 24th. I could have it delivered, but I think it will be more fun to pick it […]

Snow Leopard

by Sandy August 24, 2009 Technology

I just ordered Apple’s newest operating system. It’s called Snow Leopard , and Apple is sending it with no shipping cost and a promise to have it delivered this Friday (8/28/09), which is the day it becomes available in their retail stores. So, why fight the traffic and stand in line when you can just […]
