Hats off to Dr. Davis for exposing the issues with genetically modified wheat. Since the federal government has pushed citizens to increase the whole wheat intake and reduce the amount of protein consumed, the population has seen an alarming increase in obesity. Although he is a little over the top in some of his claims (wheat is more addictive than heroin, etc.) he is spot on and is simply helping Americans see the folly of a dietary system based on wheat and grain consumption.

A great read and will make you think twice before eating anything claiming to be whole wheat.

Hey heard you on LC. Conversations. Just so you know: It has also been shown that low-carbohydrate is bad for anti-inflammatory butyrate (talking specific fibers here):
http://perfecthealthdiet.com/?p=4354 (links Melissa McEwen huntgatherlove blogpost, which links to PDF dissertation: "Most microorganisms in the colon prefer to ferment
carbohydrates and switch to protein fermentation when fermentable carbohydrates
are depleted.19 While carbohydrate fermentation generally leads to healthpromoting
SCFA production, protein fermentation yields branched-chain fatty acids
and potentially toxic metabolites (e.g. ammonia, amines, N-nitroso compounds,
phenols, indoles and thiols).20") "

I'm about 1/2 way thru this book but its lagging for me. I wish the story would move a bit faster. Maybe I'm at that 100 pg slow point I've read about. I'll let you know how it ends.

Oh...Your blanket went for $65 and that's without me bidding on it at all! I was so hoping to bid. Great event though. Thanks for donating. The people who got it LOVE it. They have kids in Sami's class so that made it neat for them.
