Wheat Belly by William Davis, M.D.

Wheat Belly

If you are interested in losing weight, anti-aging techniques, or just overall better health; then you have to read Wheat Belly by Dr. William Davis of The Track Your Plaque Blog. Dr. Davis explains that wheat, the world’s most popular grain, is also the world’s most destructive and dangerous dietary ingredient that not only has tons of carbs but can also be the primary cause of ailments such as Celiac disease, acne, diabetes, wrinkles, heart disease, and of course, obesity.

Dr. Davis writes in a very conversationalist style that is easy to understand and he gives many examples of successful patients and their experiences. Dr. Davis’ clinical experience, supported by his scientific research and 16 pages of references make a very credible book. I recommend the book to anyone hoping to improve their health.

Hats off to Dr. Davis for exposing the issues with genetically modified wheat. Since the federal government has pushed citizens to increase the whole wheat intake and reduce the amount of protein consumed, the population has seen an alarming increase in obesity. Although he is a little over the top in some of his claims (wheat is more addictive than heroin, etc.) he is spot on and is simply helping Americans see the folly of a dietary system based on wheat and grain consumption.

A great read and will make you think twice before eating anything claiming to be whole wheat.
