I just ordered a FoodSaver vacuum sealer to keep foods fresher longer. As a single person, I am forever tossing foods that I haven’t had a chance to eat. I saw an article at Salad in a Jar about how you could save lettuce for 10 days, so I was immediately interested. The article goes on to explain that canning jars can be used over and over again instead of the expensive bags. After further research on You Tube I found quite a few more uses for the vacuum sealer.
