I’m currently taking a Photoshop 2 class and our textbook is Photoshop CS4 The Missing Manual by Lesa Snider King. I think it’s one of the best Photoshop books for students. The examples and explanations are very easy to understand, and the author has a humorous style of writing. I’ve been working on the exercises every week-end, and trying to read and study during the week. It’s difficult, though, trying to find enough time.

I’ve been busy trying to absorb as much as I can about WordPress and all of the plugins that are offered. I really like the NextGen Gallery Plugin by Alex Rabe. I have added pictures to my Gallery and Crochet sections. The installation is pretty straightforward, but there is still a learning curve. The only other plugin that I have is the one that came with my Thesis theme, called Open Hook, which provides all the functionalities needed to make changes in the theme.

I just read Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. I saw it on the New York Times bestseller list and was curious about it. I’m glad that I finally chose to read it. Outliers refers to the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. The book explores just how these people became so successful. There are fascinating stories about The Beatles, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and others. I learned that it wasn’t just their genius that propelled them to the top of their professions, but a combination of their particular talent, hard work and unique opportunities.
